Minecraft car and vehicle ideas: 18 vehicles to build
Eighteen Minecraft vehicle builds: sports cars, a monster truck, planes, helicopters, a steam train, a ship and more, each with exact blocks and step pictures.

Vehicles are some of the most fun builds in Minecraft. They are small enough to finish in a session or two, they are instantly recognisable, and a car in the driveway or a ship at the dock makes a world feel lived in. They are also a great way to practise detail: a wheel, a headlight or a spoiler has to read clearly from just a few blocks.
Here are all eighteen vehicles in the X-Builds catalogue, from a scooter to a steam train. Each is an original design with a full guide: the exact blocks it needs, counted from the build itself, and a picture for every step with the new blocks outlined. The size, block count and rough build time under each one come straight from its guide.
These are decorative builds: they stand where you build them and do not drive, fly or sail. Each one comes on its own little setting, a paving pad, a helipad, a runway strip or a length of track, which is counted in its block list.
Cars
Cars are the classic first vehicle build. Concrete gives clean, bright body colours, glass panes make thin windows, and lanterns make convincing headlights.
A white modern SUV on a paving pad: a smooth quartz body with quartz slab bevels, black concrete bumpers and roof pillars, glass pane windows, lantern headlights beside a black iron bar grille, and seats and a dashboard inside.
A low blue sports coupe with two white racing stripes over the bonnet, roof and engine deck, tinted glass windows, a black spoiler and black wheels with smooth stone hubs.
The stripes are what make it. If you change the colour, keep a pale stripe over a darker body.
A red and black open-wheel racing car with big exposed wheels, side pods, an open cockpit and a raised rear wing, parked on a short piece of race track with red and white kerbs.
A purple pickup raised high on four huge black tyres, with chain and iron bar suspension, a tinted glass cab with a row of lanterns on the roof, twin exhaust stacks and an open pickup bed, on a dirt pad with tyre ruts.
A pink food truck with a striped awning over its serving hatch, a counter lined with flower pots and a little kitchen of smokers, furnaces and barrels inside, with a bar table and stools out front.
A red and black off-road dirt bike with big spoked wheels, a smooth stone engine with iron cooling fins and a lantern headlight, beside hay bales, barrels and a small wooden jump ramp.
A retro step-through scooter in cyan concrete with smooth quartz trim, a padded spruce seat and a little luggage rack with a barrel. The smallest vehicle here, and a good first one.
A friendly utility helicopter on a helipad with a yellow ring and a white H: a cabin with a yellow stripe and sliding doors, a big glass cockpit with seats and control sticks, and a four-blade rotor.
A red and white striped hot air balloon moored over a small spruce launch deck, with chains down to a basket holding lanterns, a barrel and a campfire burner.
It is tall rather than wide, so it fits in a small space and can be seen from a long way off.
A black and red steam locomotive with its coal tender on a short length of track: a round boiler, a tall smokestack, a gold steam dome, big driving wheels with connecting rods and a red cab, on rails over gravel ballast and spruce sleepers.
A spruce wagon with big spoked wheels and a load of hay bales and barrels, pulled by two horses built from terracotta and wool along a short cobblestone road.
The one vehicle that suits a medieval world. Park it by a farm, a market or a castle gate.
A dark green army tank on a dirt pad: a moss and green concrete hull with a sloped front, tracks with stone road wheels under armour skirts, and a big turret with a long gun, hatches and crates on the back deck.
Concrete is the paint. Craft concrete powder from four sand, four gravel and a dye, then let it touch water to set. Sixteen colours, all flat and bright.
Glass panes make thin windows. Six glass blocks craft sixteen panes, and they join up into frames on their own.
Wheels are black. Black concrete or black wool for the tyre, with a lighter block like smooth stone in the middle for the hub.
Lanterns make headlights. A lantern is a torch ringed by iron nuggets, and it glows in daylight and at night.
Build the setting too. A pad, a strip of road or a dock gives a vehicle a reason to be there, and every guide here includes one.
